Afterentering China with an ordinary visa if a foreigner needs to stay inChina for non diplomatic or official reasons he may apply to theexit Entry Administration of the public security organ for visaextension renewal and reissue in accordance with the provisions. Theapplicant shall go through the relevant formalities at the exit entryadministration institution of the public security organ in person. Incase of any of the following circumstances the inviting unit orindividual the applicant's relatives or the relevant specialservice institution may apply on behalf of the applicant:

（2）非首次入境且在中国境内停留居留记录良好的；
（3）邀请单位或者个人对外籍人士在中国境内期间需提供保证措施。
(1)Under the age of 16 or over the age of 60 or being unable to movedue to illness or other reasons;
(2)It is not the first time to enter China and has a good record ofstaying in China;
(3)The inviting units or individuals shall provide guarantee measuresfor foreigners during their stay in China.
申请材料
Applicationmaterials
（1）有效护照或者其他国际旅行证件；
（2）填写外国人签证证件申请表，提供一张符合《出入境证件相片照相指引》标准的照片；
（3）与申请事由相关的证明材料（比如出生证明、结婚证明等）；
（4）其他应当履行的手续和提交的证明材料。
(1)A valid passport or other international travel document;
(2)Fill in the visa application form for foreigners and provide a photothat meets the standards of the guidelines for taking photos ofentry-exit documents;
(3)Certification materials related to the application (such as birthcertificate marriage certificate etc.);
(4)Other formalities to be performed and supporting materials to besubmitted.
什么原因不予签发新的有效证件？
Whatis the reason for not issuing new valid certificates?
公安机关出入境管理机构对有下列情形之一的外国人，不予批准签证和居留证件的延期、换发、补发，不予签发停留证件：
Theexit Entry Administration of the public security organ shall notapprove the extension renewal or reissue of visas and residencecertificates or issue residence certificates to Foreigners under anyof the following circumstances:
（1）不能按照规定提供申请材料的（比如外籍华人续签签证需提供户籍注销证明材料）；
（2）在申请过程中弄虚作假的（提供不真实的材料信息或者谎报隐瞒个人情况）；
（3）违反中国有关法律、行政法规规定，不适合在中国境内停留居留的（在国内非法居留、非法工作、非法入境等）；
（4）不宜批准签证和居留证件的延期、换发、补发或者签发停留证件的其他情形。
